Study Highlights Potential Supplement To Help Reduce Seizures in Dogs

Researchers at the RVC have found that adding Medium-Chain Triglyceride (MCT) oil to a dried kibble-based diet, can help to significantly reduce seizures in dogs with drug-resistant epilepsy.

The trial comprised of 28 dogs who were given the MCT oil for 3 months and a placebo for 3 months. Scientists found that the dog’s had a reduced amount of seizures during the MCT oil phase compared with the placebo phase, with owners also reporting an improvement in their pet’s quality of life.
